The Lord Jesus Comes in Humility to Redeem Us
The new Church Year begins by focusing on the humble coming of our Lord. âBehold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkeyâ (Matt. 21:5). Even as He was born in a lowly manger, so Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a beast of burden. For He bears the sin of the world. He is the Son of David riding to His enthronement on the cross, where He shows Himself to be âThe LORD is our Righteousnessâ (Jer. 23:5â6). Our Lord still comes in great humility to deliver His righteousness to us in the Word and Sacraments. Before receiving Christâs body and blood, we also sing, âBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!â (Matt. 21:9) And as we receive the Sacrament, we set our hearts on His return in glory, for âour salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believedâ (Rom. 13:11).

Catechesis 2024: Learning by Heart In December, our Wednesday evening worship and catechesis will begin at 5:15 to accommodate our Advent Midweek Prayer Service and Meal. Please plan to join us in the Sanctuary!
Advent Midweek Evening Prayer and Meal Please join us on Wednesday, December 4, 11, and 18 for this special time of worship and fellowship as we prayerfully prepare ourselves for The Nativity of Our Lord. Meal begins at 5:45 with Evening Prayer beginning at 7:00 pm. Our menu for December 4 is Soup and Sandwiches. Please RSVP on the bulletin insert.

Weihnachtsvesper Mark your calendars for December 15 @ 4:00 pm for our annual Weihnachtsvesper Service. We will host our guests after service to a reception with authentic German treats and even German coffee. If you would like to help or donate treats, please check out the signup sheet outside the church office.
