Maundy Thursday
The Divine Service on Maundy Thursday is the beginning of the Three Holy Days and commemorates Jesus’ institution of the Holy Communion.
The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum” from the Holy Gospel for the day: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” (St. John 13.34).
Good Friday
The Tre Ore (“Three Hours”) commemorates the time Our Lord hung upon the cross. It has three sections: Noon Prayer, at 12pm; the Divine Service, 12:30pm; and Afternoon Prayer, at 2:30pm.
Also, we will pray Lauds at 9:30am; and the Tenebrae (Service of Darkness) is at 7pm.
The Great Vigil of Easter
The Great Vigil of Easter consists of the liturgy of Light, Readings, Baptism, Prayer, Word, and Sacrament.
